Man United 'take step' to secure £18m windfall for next transfer after seeing bid rejected

Manchester United reportedly want around £18million to sanction the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The 26-year-old is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after falling down the pecking order with West Ham and Inter Milan among the teams interested in securing his services. In fact, the Daily Mail reports that West Ham are ready to step up talks for Wan-Bissaka as Julen Lopetegui tries to fine-tune his squad before the start of the new Premier League season.

The right-back has one year left on his contract, and United are prepared to cash in before the end of the window. Should United sell Wan-Bissaka, they would then look to hold further negotiations with Bayern Munich for Noussair Mazraoui.

The Morocco international, who worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax, could leave Bayern after struggling for regular game time since his move to the Allianz Arena two years ago. United had a bid for Mazraoui and teammate Matthijs de Ligt rejected last week.

Bayern want a fee in the region of £25.5m to allow the 26-year-old to leave the club this summer. Mazraoui would bolster United's defensive options and provide competition - or even replace - Diogo Dalot at right-back.

Whereas United remain keen on signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, but it's understood they will need to sell to raise funds to bring in the Uruguayan. He featured 37 times for PSG last season, but the imminent arrival of Joao Neves could see Ugarte depart the club this summer.
