Man United supporters show true Erik ten Hag colours ahead of Fulham clash

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag received a warm reception from the home fans ahead of tonight's Premier League opener against Fulham.

Ten Hag made his way to pitchside prior to kick-off to be interviewed by the Sky Sports panel of Kelly Cates, Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville. Before he conducted his media duties, Ten Hag received a warm splattering of applause from fans who were already inside Old Trafford for the opening game.

During his interview, Ten Hag was asked about a range of topics. These included whether he thought the team was ready for the new season which he answered with a smile after claiming in his press conference that the players were not ready.

The Dutchman was also asked by Keane about potentially bringing more new players to the club this summer. He responded: "We can't stand still.

"It depends what happens in the market but I am happy with the squad and I am quite confident ahead of the new season." After the interview ended, Ten Hag received another round of applause from the home fans and acknowledged them by clapping them back.

It was also noted that Ten Hag seemed relaxed ahead of the opening game and that perhaps comes from the summer he has just had. At the end of the season, there was a lot of speculation about his future but after two weeks of indecision by Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, an agreement was reached to keep Ten Hag and extend his contract.

This backing from the new owners has clearly given the Dutchman a new, relaxed demeanour and it is clear the fans back the decision to keep Ten Hag too.
