In an update issued on February 2, Greater Manchester Police said the 20-year-old had been released on bail.

A force statement read: "A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation."

GMP have now confirmed to Mirror Football that Greenwood's bail will expire on April 30.

At this point, it could be extended.

The United Academy graduate has been suspended by the club until further notice.

He has not played for the club since the Premier League fixture against West Ham on 22 January.

After initially suspending their relationship with the forward, Nike has also confirmed that their partnership with him has ended.

GMP confirmed Greenwood's accuser has been offered 'specialist support'.
