Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo addresses retirement question as Christian Eriksen names strongest position

Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo reiterated he has no intention of retiring from international football, as he revealed he wants to play for Portugal at the 2024 European Championship.

Ronaldo, 37, expressed it was his desire to leave United in the summer but remains at the club and will play a role in Erik ten Hag's squad until January at the earliest.

Ronaldo was named in Portugal's squad for this month's Nations League fixtures and he is set to play at the Qatar World Cup. Ronaldo broke the all-time international scoring record last year and he remains a key part of Portugal's plans on the international stage.

He was presented with an award at a Portuguese Football Federation ceremony on Tuesday and he informed the audience of his plans for the future, explaining that he intends to represent his nation at Euro 2024, which will be hosted in Germany.
