Liverpool hero made damning claim about Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo

Players who are synonymous with Liverpool FC might not always have time for Cristiano Ronaldo - but when he counts the Manchester United superstar as a former teammate then you expect there to be some leeway for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. However, that is not the case for Jerzy Dudek.

Best remembered for his six years at Anfield, the former Poland goalkeeper also spent four seasons with Spanish giants Real Madrid before his retirement, two of them spent alongside Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, 37, emerged as one of the best players in history during his first spell at United and managed to hit even greater heights when moving to Spain. He returned to Old Trafford in a sensational transfer from Juventus and the Portugal captain netted a winner against Everton on Sunday night.

Goals have been his currency for the best part of two decades now. However, according to Dudek, the superstar that he once shared a dressing room with would rather score than see his teams win - as per a damning clip taken from his 2016 autobiography.

Assessing several Real heroes in one particular chapter, Dudek said: "Raul was an arrogant guy, but overall he was normal. Cristiano Ronaldo is very egocentric and with a huge desire to win, which is often not welcomed from the outside. I think he would rather lose 1-0 than win 5-0 without scoring."

Surely not? Well the trophy cabinet might argue differently as long-standing rival Lionel Messi also got a mention, with Dudek pulling no punches over the Barcelona icon.

He continued: "Messi was provocative, as was his coach Pep Guardiola. They were always ready to annoy you and they managed to perfectly. I've heard Messi say such bad things to Pepe and Sergio Ramos
