Man United 'set' Antony exit timeline ahead of Rangers clash

Antony's exit from Manchester United this winter could reportedly be confirmed before this weekend's fixtures as Ruben Amorim tries to offload the winger.

The Brazilian was signed by Erik ten Hag in his first transfer window at the club but he has never lived up to his £82m price tag. Once Ten Hag was sacked in October, the writing appeared to be on the wall for Antony.

Amorim called upon Antony during the clash with Southampton last week but his close range miss appeared to set the seeds for his exit. La Liga side Real Betis have shown a firm interest in signing the former Ajax man on loan but his £200,000 per week wages were thought to be a sticking point.

Earlier this week, reports from Spain suggested that an agreement had been reached to seal the deal with Amorim including clauses to ensure Antony would receive minutes. ABC in Seville are now claiming there is a slight hold up in the winger's move to the club.

It is thought Antony is still waiting for the green light from United to make the move and as such remains training with the club ahead of the Europa League tie against Rangers. Amorim also wants to 'incorporate a replacement' into the United team before allowing Antony to leave but it is not known if that refers to a new signing or a player from within the current group and academy.

Mundo Deportivo anticipates that Antony is likely to fly out to Seville on Friday to complete his loan deal. It is expected that once the move to Real Betis is confirmed, the agreement will not include an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
