Man United set £65m Bryan Mbeumo transfer deadline as Ruben Amorim feelings clear

Manchester United find themselves in an undesirable position at this current stage of the summer transfer window. With just five weeks until the 2025/26 season, frustrations has set in.

Following their worst season in 51 years that culminated with a lacklustre Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, United were destined for a busy transfer window involving a number of incomings and certain players being sold.

Like every single summer, United have been, or not been, involved in a rather busy period full of speculation and stories linking them with over a hundred players. However, Jadon Wilcox has only managed to sign one player in Matheus Cunha.

His £62.5million release clause was triggered early in the window and he became signing number one. It then became apparent that Bryan Mbeumo was the club's number one target after Cunha with the Brentford star viewed as the perfect partner for the Brazilian.

The Reds opened talks with their Premier League rivals at the start of June and an opening bid worth £55million was rejected. Another offer of £60m then fell short. After a month of very gradual talks, Mbeumo remains a Brentford player and United are not yet to match the Bees' valuation, believed to be around £65m.

According to The Telegraph, Mbeumo is expected to arrive at United this week. It comes after reports last week that the 25-year-old was growing frustrated at the lack of progress. And it seems as though Ruben Amorim is also becoming agitated.
