Man United receive Jarrad Branthwaite warning as Matheus Cunha transfer reality emerges

Manchester United won't have to wait much longer to complete some transfer business with the market officially opening on June 1.

This is two weeks earlier than in 2024, when it opened on June 14. However, this year, it will close on June 10 for a six-day period. This change was made due to the recently extended FIFA Club World Cup registration period.

United, who will not participate in the competition, will have the window reopen on June 16 and close on September 1. It will provide Ruben Amorim and his staff with the opportunity to strengthen several key positions, including attack and goalkeeping.

Matheus Cunha is one of the players United are reportedly considering a move for this summer, according to The Athletic. The 25-year-old has been in fine form this season, netting 15 goals across 29 appearances.

However, his services are set to come at a cost of £62.5million after signing a new deal until June 2029 earlier this year. The Daily Mail report Wolves are 'unlikely' to consider selling him for anything less than that and state the Reds would have to sell at least one senior player to afford signing Cunha.

Besides United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest.
