Man United receive 'huge' Leny Yoro transfer breakthrough as formal 'bid' made for wonderkid

Manchester United are pushing ahead with their pursuit of confirming their second signing of the summer transfer window, with a new centre-back now the priority.

Joshua Zirkzee became the first new face through the door at Old Trafford on Sunday and is expected to join up with Erik ten Hag's squad later on in the summer after helping the Netherlands reach the Euro 2024 semi-finals.

Ten Hag and new sporting director Dan Ashworth are working hard behind-the-scenes to get the Red Devils' business spot-on ahead of a huge season. Untied are looking to improve on last season's eighth-place finish and hope to return to the Champions League.

The European champions are yet to match United's offer, with reports suggesting their highest bid yet was just €20m (£16.8m). Now, according to FootMercato, Yoro is reconsidering United's approach and is in talks with the club over his salary.

In another positive twist, it's said that Yoro's entourage are pushing for the youngster to make a move so he can establish himself in Ten Hag's squad.
