Man United players' reaction to Ruud van Nistelrooy speaks volumes after fortunate Leicester win

Manchester United's players will have breathed a sigh of relief after Harry Maguire's late goal sparred them and their many fans another 30 minutes of toil at Old Trafford.

And the players' reaction to the club's former striker speaks volumes about how he was received in the United dressing room during his brief four-game spell in charge of the Reds. Casemiro and Victor Lindelof were pictured in discussion with the Dutchman pre-match whilst United captain Bruno Fernandes was one of several other players to shake hands with him on the pitch at full-time.

That's not to say that the former PSV Eindhoven boss would have fared better than Amorim. Van Nistelrooy largely benefited from having the short bounce United inevitably received after Erik ten Hag's sacking and as seen with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a successful spell as interim manager is no guarantee of long-term success.
