Man United 'plan' transfer reunion for Ruben Amorim favourite as fresh target emerges

Manchester United continue to work on signing more players this summer with Bryan Mbeumo understood to be next on the list of priorities.

Brentford have rejected two bids - but negotiations remain ongoing - with Mbeumo keen to join Ruben Amorim's side. Matheus Cunha was the first player to be added to their squad in a £62.5million deal from Wolves.

Amorim's first full season as head coach begins on August 17 - with a home Premier League match against Arsenal. By then, club officials will aim to have completed further reinforcements.

The Manchester Evening News has taken a look at the latest headlines from in and around Old Trafford;

United are reportedly weighing up a move to reunite Amorim with Sporting Clube de Portugal defender Goncalo Inacio. According to Football Transfers, the club is exploring a creative loan deal with an obligation to buy him for €40million (£34million).

The 23-year-old is under contract with the Portuguese giants until 2027 - and has a €60million (£51million) release clause. However, if United secure a loan deal, Inacio's value could be significantly lower next summer.

The Manchester Evening News says: Inacio flourished under Amorim at Sporting and would likely adapt quickly at Old Trafford. His attributes align closely with the manager's tactical demands, making him a strong fit for their new system.

Widely regarded as one of the stand-out players in Sporting's current squad, his departure would be a significant blow - and with that said, the Lions may be reluctant to let him go.

The club are reportedly exploring a move for Boca Juniors midfielder Milton Delgado.
