Man United 'make' key decision over Sander Berge deal as next transfer becomes clear

Manchester United are reportedly pushing ahead with their search for a new No.6 this summer by holding talks with Burnley over the possible signing of Sander Berge.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Norway international was on United's transfer radar after the decision to cool their interest in Manuel Ugarte. It's understood that Paris Saint-Germain's valuation of the Uruguay international has led to the Red Devils looking elsewhere.

Berge is one of an extensive list of potential targets that new sporting director Dan Ashworth and Ineos are considering moves for. Monaco and France star Youssouf Fofana, Wolves' Joao Gomes and Sofyan Amrabat, who hasn't yet returned to the club, have all been linked.

There has also been an update on their pursuit of Fofana, who is now in the final 12 months of his contract in France. The same report from Dharmesh Sheth states that dialogue remains open with Monaco over a possible deal.

Before the end of the season, it was claimed that Monaco were persisting with their £30.1m (€35m) valuation of the 25-year-old. AC Milan had been the frontrunners
