Man United transfer news live Ugarte move close as Branthwaite stance clear amid Kone agreement

Hello and welcome to the Manchester United transfer blog on Friday as the summer window approaches its conclusion.

Transfer deadline day is a week away for Premier League clubs and United are still working on multiple moves. The club are closing in on an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign midfielder Manuel Ugarte and have already agreed a deal to sign teenage Mali youth international Sekou Kone.

They will reputedly pay a £1million transfer fee for the latter, which could rise because of several performance-related add-ons. The midfielder is seemingly set to have a medical next week before officially becoming a United player.

United are not quite at that stage of negotiations with PSG over Ugarte, but talks with the Parisian club are described as productive and a deal is seemingly imminent. The Uruguay international will likely join on a season-long loan with an obligation for United to make the move permanent.

With those two midfielders coming in, the Reds remain open to offers for Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, but that by no means necessitates the sale of Scott McTominay amid Fulham seemingly ending their interest in the Scotland international. Napoli are also keen on him but want a loan.

However, Jadon Sancho could move on before the end of the window. The United winger is back in the fold with Ten Hag, but MEN Sport understands he is one of five players the Reds would be open to selling and is valued at £40m by the Reds, but matching the player's wages is seemingly stalling any move away.
