Man United have no-brainer Federico Chiesa transfer incentive despite unwanted FFP flaw

Manchester United face question marks over a number of players in the summer transfer window, but no more than Mason Greenwood. After spending last season on loan in Spain with Getafe, his future is expected to be away from Old Trafford.

MEN Sport understands the 22-year-old will be sold permanently this summer. Greenwood last played for United in January 2022. He was arrested later that month before charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm were dropped in February 2023.

A number of European clubs are thought to be interested in Greenwood after he bagged 10 goals and six assists for Getafe. Borussia Dortmund and Lazio have both been mentioned in the race for the Englishman but Juventus are understood to be pushing ahead.

The Serie A giants are not well-backed and will struggle to meet the suggested €40m-€50m (£34m-£42m) asking price for Greenwood. However, under new head coach Thiago Motta, one of Juve's star players could be included in an exchange for Greenwood.

Federico Chiesa's current deal in Turin expires in 2025 meaning he faces being sold this window. Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed he is not part of Motta's plans so could subsequently be offered in a deal to United.

The 26-year-old has been a consistent attacker in Italy over the years. He netted 34 goals for Fiorentina before moving to Juventus, where he has bagged a further 32 and 23 assists.
