Man United have a player who can be 'one of the best in the world' - but he needs to change

Former striker Louis Saha believes Marcus Rashford is "the best player at Manchester United" amid his ongoing absence - but has suggested he needs to change his attitude.

Rashford was left out of the matchday squad for the tenth time in United's last 11 matches for Sunday night's 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. Head coach Ruben Amorim suggested afterwards he would rather pick 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital at this moment in time, though United clarified Amorim's point was a broader one and not directed at Rashford.

Rashford has not featured for United since he started the 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12. His only appearance in the matchday squad since then was when he was an unused substitute for the defeat to Newcastle United on December 30.

He participated in Wednesday morning's open training session at Carrington as United's players prepared for Thursday night's Europa League tussle with FCSB in Romania. Rashford could still leave the club ahead of Monday night's transfer deadline.

"The manager is upset," Saha told spaceportsweden.com. "He said in his interview he would have preferred to have Rashford in his squad, but he can't because he's not committed. He said he would rather play with his goalkeeping coach up front.

"At the end of the day, I expect every single Manchester United player to work hard, fight for their place. If you don't dedicate yourself to being the best, then you're out. Those are the standards.

"At this moment, there are too many players trying to impose their own influence on the club rather than listening to the manager.
