Man United handed Joao Felix Chelsea transfer twist as Marcus Rashford talks continue
Marcus Rashford's Manchester United future looks to have taken another twist this time involving Chelsea and Joao Felix. Following his bombshell exit wish from just over one month ago, Rashford has been named in just one United matchday squad by Ruben Amorim and he was again absent from the 3-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.
After the game, which was United's fourth league defeat from their last five at Old Trafford, Amorim was asked about Rashford's ongoing absence and his response was certainly telling. "It is his choice [not to play]. I don’t want to focus on this bad moment because in the games we lost, Rashford is not here," he said.
"I don't want to put this moment on Rashford. Rashford is out of this moment because he is not playing. No matter what, I am not going to put out a player I don’t believe is the best for the team." In terms of where Rashford could move this month, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund appear to be the only clubs still in the race for his signature.
"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," Rashford, said of his desire to depart United. "When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'.
"If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse. "I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person.
"When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me." Dortmund currently seem as the frontrunners with new talks having taken place earlier this week as the German club look to sign him on loan, according to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg.
