Man United get huge Ruben Amorim next manager update as replacement decision made before Leicester
Sporting CP are already putting in contingency plans for losing manager Ruben Amorim, according to reports. The Portuguese boss has agreed a deal with Manchester United over replacing Erik ten Hag.
There is still work to be done between the two clubs, Manchester Evening News understands, but there is confidence that a deal will be struck. Sporting are in action on Tuesday night in the cup against Nacional.
United themselves are preparing to play as Ruud van Nistelrooy takes charge as interim head coach for Wednesday's Carabao Cup fourth-round tie with Leicester City. Chelsea travel to Old Trafford on Sunday in the Premier League.

Things have moved quickly since Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos sporting control ownership group pulled the plug on Ten Hag's time at the club. The Dutchman was removed less than 24 hours after his side suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Ham thanks to a controversial late penalty.
The result left Ten Hag in 14th with only three league wins out of nine and one in the past eight from all competitions. It follows on from United's worst Premier League season ever in 2023/24.
The speed at which change is happening at Old Trafford has forced Sporting to act quickly themselves. Amorim still has 18 months on his current contract in Lisbon but is available for just under £10million via a managerial release clause.
With the prospect of losing the former Braga defender, reports from Portugal now say that B Team coach Joao Pereira is being lined up as the short-term replacement, at
