Man United face £170m double transfer dilemma with only one clear winner this summer

Manchester United hope that a potential Bruno Fernandes' sale would allow them to keep Kobbie Mainoo this summer, according to the latest reports.

The Reds are in a tricky spot with PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) following a decade of poor transfer decisions meaning they will have to sell to buy this summer. United's loanees, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho, should fetch tidy sums, but selling them won't be easy.

Rashford's departure on a permanent deal will generate pure profit due to his homegrown status, but earning any profit on the huge fees paid for Sancho and Antony will be nigh on impossible - even if they have shown promise this season.

Fernandes' potential exit for £100m to Al-Hilal would therefore offer a huge boost. United's captain is understood to be seriously considering the offer to join Saudi Arabia's most successful club.
