Ederson transfer, £60m signing complete, Mainoo call - Man United dream midfield in 2025/26
It has already been a busy transfer window for Manchester United with head coach Ruben Amorim being backed.
After a disappointing season, which saw the club finish in 15th place in the Premier League and lose the Europa League final, United have the added challenge of no European football at Old Trafford next season. That could impact the window in terms of both attracting players and financially.
Despite that, the club have already completed the signing of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian joined the club earlier in the summer in a deal worth £62.5 million.
United are also working on a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. The forward could cost a fee of around £60 million.
While concentration at the minute is on attacking areas of the squad, there could also be some changes in the midfield area come the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
First in terms of exits, it has already been confirmed that both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will leave the club at the end of their contracts at the end of this month. It means that they will leave for nothing.
In terms of sales, Kobbie Mainoo is one player who could be sold in order to bring cash in to fund more incomings. The England man has two years remaining on his contract, and with him being an academy product, he will go down as pure profit on the books, providing a boost in terms of profitability and sustainability rules (PSRs).
In a boost to Amorim’s side, Bruno Fernandes has turned down the opportunity to move to Saudi side Al-Hilal this summer. The club captain held talks with the club with a fee of £100 million mentioned.
