Man United 'eye' Viktor Gyokeres free agent transfer alternative as club 'hijacks' move
Manchester United completed their first piece of summer transfer business when they announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers last Sunday. The Brazilian has made the £62.5million move and has penned a five-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months.
While United coughed up a sizeable fee to secure Cunha's services, more are expected to follow. Ruben Amorim's side are chasing a move for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and have seen a £55m bid rejected. Mbeumo is believed to have made it his preference to make the move to Old Trafford this summer.
Elsewhere, there is going to be a prime focus to get players out of the door. Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sanchoare three players that have been tipped to leave Old Trafford. Rasmus Hojlund, meanwhile, has confirmed that he doesn't expect to leave United, despite talk of a move to Inter Milan.

However, Spurs are keen to make a late move and attempt to tempt Mbeumo to team up with Thomas Frank, who appears to be the favourite to replace Ange Postecoglou.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided seven assists in 38 Premier League appearances under Frank for Brentford this season and Tottenham hope to bring him to north London.
