Man United dealt major transfer blow as PSG make decision on striker target
Manchester United have been dealt a major transfer blow with target Randal Kolo Muani closing in on a move to Juventus. The 26-year-old had been linked with a move to Old Trafford this month after struggling for game time at Paris Saint-Germain this season.
In fact, Kolo Muani has not been in the PSG squad since the 0-0 draw against Auxerre on Monday, December 16. He has started just three Ligue 1 matches and has played just 453 minutes of first-team football in 2024/25. It felt inevitable that the France international was going to leave PSG this month.
And journalist Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Juventus have 'sealed' a move for Kolo Muani on loan with no buy option. The transfer has been in the pipeline for a number of weeks but couldn't go through as PSG had filled their limit of players available out on loan abroad.
They needed to offload someone, and PSG have decided to terminate Juan Bernat's contract by mutual consent so he can sign a six-month deal with Villarreal, where he was already on loan. Bernat was loaned out to the Spanish club in August 2024 and made 12 appearances for the club.
Kolo Muani is expected to be announced at Juventus in the coming days - a blow to United, who were interested in a move. Ruben Amorim's side have been linked with adding a new striker to their squad amid Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee's struggles at the top end of the pitch this season.
It was reported earlier this month that United had not ruled out the possibility of signing Kolo Muani, showing their desire to strengthen up front. Hojlund and Zirkzee have found the net a combined five times this season—a total that is not good enough for United as they bid to return to form.
