Man United confirm £660m prediction amid four transfer moves

Manchester United have confirmed that they are on track to record a total revenue of £660 million in 2024, which would be an increase on the previous 12 months. It comes with the club continuing to be aggressive in the transfer market under new minority owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.

In an update on Wednesday, United released their first third-quarter results and predictions moving forward, stating that, "the Company now expects approximate full year revenues of a record £660 million, in line with the previous guidance range of £635 million to £665m." It adds that the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) are expected to come to £140m.

That is described as being "in line with previously provided guidance range of £125m to £150m," the report continues. In 2023, a year in which United didn't play in the Champions League, the total revenue came in at £648m.

When released in around nine months time, the current financial year will be the first of Ineos' full sporting control at Old Trafford. Having taken on matters officially earlier in 2024, Ratcliffe and Co are looking to make sweeping changes to how the club is run both on and off the pitch.

That has been highlighted by staff redundancies, which are also confirmed in the report. "On 3 July, the Club announced it would be commencing a proposed redundancy program," United write, "which will involve a formal legal consultation process and may reduce headcount by approximately 250 jobs."
