Man United can sign dream Arsenal target on one condition as Dan Ashworth lines up £42m transfer

Manchester United know what they have to do to get their hands on Benjamin Sesko. The RB Leipzig striker was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer before deciding to sign a new deal at the Red Bull Arena.

Sesko featured 31 times in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists. Playing a key role in Marco Rose's side, the 21-year-old helped the German outfit secure Champions League qualification.

His impressive performances reportedly courted the interest of some top clubs across Europe, but Leipzig were determined to hold onto their talisman. So, to fend off potential suitors, Sesko agreed to sign a new contract, which now keeps him at the club until June 2029.

This term, Sesko has picked up from where he left off, netting six goals in nine games – and Manchester United are interested, according to the MailOnline. The report states that the Slovenia international is expected to leave next summer, but there's one factor that's likely to be key to his future.

The MailOnline claim that Sesko wants to continue playing in the Champions League; as it stands, the Red Devils are 14th in the Premier League and six points adrift of Chelsea, who are holding down fourth place. The season is, of course, still in its infancy, but Erik ten Hag's side have a lot of work to do.
