Man United and Tottenham's January transfer deals can be great news for Arsenal in top-four race

Premier League football will soon be back on our screens after a two-and-a-half-week break.

And when it does return, Arsenal will resume their quest to secure a top-six finish at the very least as that would ensure they are back in European competition next season after a rare absence this term.

But looking at the Premier League table as it currently stands, the Gunners are very much in the race for Champions League qualification as they are just two points off fourth-placed Manchester United with a game in hand.

Although, a lack of signings in the January transfer window coupled with six first-team players leaving has prompted doubts as to whether Arsenal's squad is deep enough to maintain a top-four push.

With that said, it was a relatively quiet window across the board. Well, that's outside of Newcastle United and Aston Villa, as many teams opted to make minimal changes to their squads.

For the Gunners, they would have kept a close eye on what their rivals for a top-four spot were doing in the transfer market last month as it will impact what happens between now and the end of the season.

From Man United in fourth to Wolves in eighth - with West Ham United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur sandwiched in between - just four points separates these five teams.

Yet with Manchester City, Liverpool, and to a lesser extent Chelsea, pulling away at the top of the Premier League table, it's likely that only one Champions League qualification spot is up for grabs.
