Man to appear in court after Audi crashes into ambulance carrying child patient
A man from Eccles has been charged with drink driving following an incident yesterday where a car crashed into an ambulance carrying a child. Robert Chalmers, of Liverpool Road, has been remanded in custody and the 4-year-old will appear in court later today.
The incident saw an Audi collide with an ambulance on Gilda Brook Road in Salford on September 25, 2022. The paramedics and the child being taken to hospital suffered no injuries as a result of the crash.
The man in the Audi was then pulled aside for a breath test by Greater Manchester Police.

Giving an update on the incident via social media, GMP Traffic said: “Robert Chalmers (44yrs) of Liverpool Rd, Eccles has been charged with Drink Driving. He was remanded in custody and will appear in court later today.”
