Man seriously injured in hospital as police rush to 3am incident in Salford street

A man is fighting for his life in hospital following a incident in Salford in the early hours of this morning (September 7).

Police were called to Lansdowne Road in Monton at around 3am. A large scene was in place as they raced to help a man who had sustained serious 'life-threatening' injuries.

It is understood the man was rushed to hospital, where he remains. The M.E.N has been told police are not looking for anyone in connection with the incident.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police first attended the scene following reports of a concern for safety. A large scene was in place on Lansdowne Road this morning as emergency services worked to clear the area.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a significant police presence on Monton Road and the surrounding area.

It is understood that the cordon has since been removed. There is not believed to be any third party involvement or risk to the wider community.
