Man orders sandwich from cafe but is gobsmacked when 'criminal' bill arrives

If there's one thing that tastes worse than bad food, it's bad food that's also expensive.

And a man learned this that hard way when he ordered a sad-looking chicken sandwich from a cafe in Canada. He stopped off at the establishment with his mum, who wanted to go inside.

But the pair probably wish they'd never stepped foot in the cafe after the food arrived at the table – followed by an eye-watering bill.

The disgruntled bloke took to Reddit to share a picture of the dining disaster, which was captioned: "$18 for this and fries." And we have to agree that the dish looked less than appetising.

It consisted of a buttery white bun with chunks of bland-looking chicken inside it. The most prominent colour was beige – as there was no salad or sauces included.

When a picture of the meal was posted online, people were equally unimpressed. Some even argued the £14 price tag was a total "scam".

One wrote: "This gotta be @ an airport. Even then, it's offensive, outrageous, and borderline criminal."
