Man left with serious injuries after assault on residential street
Police descended on a residential street yesterday (September 3) afternoon after a man was attacked and left with 'serious injuries'. Residents reported a police helicopter and a number of officers and ambulances in the area following the incident, with police confirming a 19-year-old man has been arrested.
Officers were called around 5.15pm to the incident on Matley Green, Brinnington, Stockport, where a 29-year-old man had been assaulted. He was left with serious injuries which are not considered life threatening and was taken to hospital to receive treatment.
Police confirmed that a 19-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following the assault. They remain in police custody for questioning.

A GMP spokesman said: "At around 5:15pm yesterday evening (Saturday 3 September 2022), police responded to an incident in Matley Green, Stockport. A 29-year-old man was assaulted and left with serious injuries that are not considered life threatening.
"He was taken to hospital to receive treatment. Following this incident, a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
"He remains in police custody for questioning."
