VAR: Alan Shearer's analysis of Chelsea vs West Ham debacle on MOTD was spot on
West Ham United were incredibly unlucky to leave Stamford Bridge without a single point.
David Moyes’ side travelled to west London for a match against fierce rivals Chelsea and were on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat.

West Ham should have levelled the scores at 2-2 straight after Havertz’s strike, though.
Maxwel Cornet fired the ball into the back of the net after an Edouard Mendy mistake, but VAR chalked off the goal for an apparent foul by Jarrod Bowen on the Chelsea goalkeeper.

The Newcastle United legend went on a bit of a rant about VAR when asked for his opinion on the incident by host Gary Lineker and to be honest, it’s almost impossible not to agree with his words.

“They should be told to stay out of it the VAR officials. This was never ever, ever a foul. And I don’t think anyone who has played the game will agree with the VAR Jared Gillett and the referee Andy Madley.
“The keeper [Mendy] goes down because he realises he’s made a wreck. [Jarrod] Bowen just steps over him, he doesn’t interfere with the play.
