Man in 20s dies after Kerry motor rally crash
A man in his 20s has died following an accident at a motor rally in Co Kerry yesterday.
The single-vehicle incident took place at around 3pm at a rally event at Mount Eagle in Castleisland.
The man, who was driving the car, suffered serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he later passed away.
A passenger, a man in his 30s, was taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, with gardaí now engaging with the relevant agencies in relation to this matter.
Killarney and District Motor Club confirmed that the accident took place on SS4 of the Killarney Forestry Rally
In a statement, the club extended their sympathies to his family and friends.
