Man found in hotel bed with woman days after he killed driver in 113mph M62 smash

A teenage tearaway who dealt drugs and kept guns turned killer driver after smashing into another car at 113mph while high on laughing gas.

Shaun Tinsley, 28, was jailed yesterday (Wednesday) after crashing into Paul Loller's vehicle 'like a missile' on the M62 near Warrington. He then careered into the central reservation and fled on foot, leaving the innocent 61-year-old dying at the scene.

Tinsley's life of crime started when he was a youth, the Liverpool Echo reports. His 21 previous convictions for 36 offences include 'serious criminal activity' with his name first making headlines back in 2014, when he was locked up as part of a Liverpool drugs gang which trafficked heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis to Cumbria.

A total of 23 conspirators were brought down as part of the Cumbria Police investigation, codenamed Operation Axe, and imprisoned for a combined total of 44 years and one month. Tinsley, then of Langsdale Street in Liverpool, and aged 20, received two years and eight months.

It came after the probe, which commenced as early as December 2012 and lasted more than a year, saw the force's drug squad covertly target a ring which was 'influential' in transporting the class A and B substances to Barrow. Cash amounting to £7,585 and £13,205 of product was seized from the 'lucrative business'.

But Tinsley's involvement with the underworld continued. Matrix officers raided his home in August 2015 as part of a crackdown on gun crime.
