Man City vs Yokohama Marinos LIVE team news and predictions as Mateo Kovacic set for debut

Manchester City will return to the field on Sunday morning for their first friendly of pre-season.

The Blues have travelled to Japan for the first leg of their Asia tour and will play for the first time since winning the Champions League trophy against Yokohama Marinos.

Kevin De Bruyne cycled on an exercise bike on his own while the rest of the team trained on Saturday evening and he's a doubt for the game following the hamstring tear he suffered in Japan.

There could be a debut for Mateo Kovacic though who was signed from Chelsea in a £25million deal to replace the departed Ilkay Gundogan.

Pep Guardiola is expecting a tough game. He said in his pre-match press conference: "Yesterday I watched Yokohama and I like a lot what I see. Maybe because we are in the same football group - the City Football Group - they are doing a very good job. Tomorrow will be so difficult for us because they are so aggressive.

"They are dynamic in their process, the build-up, everything they do. I like it. I say wow. I have a big respect for what this country has done for many years, not just now."
