Man City vs Southampton U21 live Premier League 2 final goal and score updates
Manchester City can add another trophy to sign off a fine academy season as they face Southampton in the Premier League 2 play-off final this evening.
City finished first in the regular Premier League 2 season, earning them top seed status for these play-offs made up of the top 16 teams. Ben Wilkinson's youngsters beat Liverpool in extra-time in a quarter-final, then Arsenal having scored a 94th-minute equaliser to force a second successive extended finish.
Manchester United were beaten in the semi-final last week to set up this final against Southampton - who finished seventh in the regular campaign and have beaten Brighton, Chelsea and Crystal Palace.
Divin Mubama has scored five of City's seven goals in this play-off campaign including a brace in the semi-final against United.

City won the regular season in the Premier League 2, which contains 26 teams who play 20 one-off games decided by seedings from previous years.
Ben Wilkinson's side had the most potent attack and the meanest defence, losing just three times all season, with captain Jahmai Simpson-Pusey earning the PL2 Player of the Year award. Teammate Emilio Lawrence was also nominated for that award as City made full amends from last year's 23rd place finish.
In the play-offs, Liverpool were beaten by a Divin Mubama brace, before Ashton Muir and Lakyle Samuel scored as City came from 2-0 down against Arsenal to force extra time. Mubama then volleyed in a winner to set up the semi-final over United.
Mubama's brace, including an inventive backheel, sends City into today's final where they will look to finish the job.
