Man City vs Inter Milan highlights and reaction as Blues held amid De Bruyne injury scare

Old ground is being dug up this week in a London conference room as Manchester City and the Premier League battle it out over historical charges - and it was certainly a battle on the pitch as City faced Inter Milan in the Champions League.

While that trial continues in the background, City fans will be basking in some happier memories as Inter Milan arrived at the Etihad. The last time these teams met was in Istanbul, where the Blues won their first ever Champions League trophy.

Pep Guardiola made four changes to the side that struggled against Brentford but edged a win thanks to Erling Haaland's brace. Haaland would have reached 100 goals in a City shirt had he scored against Inter, but City were held to a goalless draw by the Italian champions.

Ilkay Gundogan, Josko Gvardiol and Savinho went close for City, while the Blues will wait to see how Kevin De Bruyne is - the Belgian limping off at half-time after picking up a knock in the closing stages of the first half.

Grealish did well against Inter to continue his good start to the season - but Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne both get low marks in Simon Bajkowski's player ratings from the Etihad.

Guardiola is flabbergasted as Ilkay Gundogan does everything right but directs a header straight at Sommer in the closing stages.

There are even more heads in hands as Ilkay Gundogan throws himself at a Jeremy Doku cross with the last kick of the game, but the header flies over from six yards.

That's the whistle and City open their Champions League campaign with a point. A fair result on reflection.

Stick around on the Manchester Evening News for ratings, report and analysis throughout the evening and tomorrow - plus news on Kevin De Bruyne's potential injury.
