Man City vs Huddersfield Town FA Cup tie date, kick off time and TV coverage confirmed

Manchester City's FA Cup third round tie with Huddersfield Town has been selected for live coverage on BBC iPlayer next month.

City hold fond memories of the domestic cup competition after lifting it for the seventh time last season thanks to a 2-1 victory over arch rivals Manchester United. The accomplishment was the Blues' second trophy on their way to a historic Treble.

Pep Guardiola's defence of their crown will begin on home soil against Darren Moore's struggling Championship side. The Terriers were in the Premier League as recently as the 2018/19 season but are currently 21st in the second tier.

Huddersfield narrowly missed out on promotion back to the top flight in 2022 when they lost the play-off final to Nottingham Forest. But since then they have struggled.

The details for City's cup clash have now been confirmed, with the match to take place on Sunday, January 7 at 2pm. The game will be screened live on the BBC iPlayer.

Those with a TV licence will be able to watch the game for free on the broadcaster's iPlayer service. The on-demand streaming platform can be accessed via your TV's red button or online.

Earlier this week, six matches were confirmed for TV selection. Crystal Palace vs Everton is on January 4 with Spurs vs Burnley 24 hours later. Sunderland vs Newcastle United and Middlesbrough vs Aston Villa take place on the Saturday with Arsenal against Liverpool and Wigan against Manchester United coming on the Sunday and the Monday. Ticket details for City's tie will be announced in due course.
