Man City transfers: Chelsea step up Raheem Sterling bid plus Marc Cucurella latest

The focus at Premier League champions Manchester City is now on outgoings, with the high-profile departures of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling edging closer.

Arsenal and City are close to agreeing a £50million agreement for Brazil striker Jesus to move from the Etihad to the Emirates, with a deal expected to be finalised in the coming days.

Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to sign Sterling, who has entered the final year of his contract, with Stamford Bridge boss Thomas Tuchel understood to have made contact with the England winger.

Sterling has lost his status as a automatic pick under City boss Pep Guardiola, starting just 23 Premier League games last season, and feels a move to play more regularly, with the World Cup later this year, is what his career needs right now.

Gabriel Jesus is closing in on a £45m move from Manchester City to Arsenal.

City's double signing of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez has convinced Jesus to leave the Premier League champions for more regular football, with Arsenal able to offer him that.

Jesus, who has scored 58 goals in 159 Premier League matches, as well as winning the title four times since moving to the Etihad in 2016 in a £27million deal from Palmeiras, will become Arsenal's fourth summer signing. Deals for his compatriot Marquinhos, goalkeeper Matt Turner and Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira have already been signed off.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is said to have personally contacted Raheem Sterling about joining him at Stamford Bridge.

City are willing to let Sterling leave this summer, but want around £50m for the England international, who is still only 27 and has many years left playing at the highest level.
