Man City ‘to battle Arsenal’ for Wolves star Pedro Neto and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are said to hold an interest in Wolves winger Pedro Neto, although supposedly face competition from Arsenal.

Neto’s performances this season have caught the eye with a goal and nine assists in 10 matches prior to his hamstring injury. The 23-year-old returned from his two-month setback against Everton in December before featuring for 35 minutes versus Brentford in Friday’s FA Cup clash.

The Athletic states City are monitoring Neto, although the Portugal star is not expected to leave Molineux this month. It is claimed the working relationship between Wolves and City from deals such as Tommy Doyle and, going the other way, Matheus Nunes, could play a factor.

Arsenal have been linked with Neto who is expected to be the subject of interest in the summer when right wing options at City could become thinned should Bernardo Silva depart, having been linked with an exit for the past two years. The Blues signed the exciting Jeremy Doku in the summer but allowed two other wingers to depart with Riyad Mahrez and Cole Palmer exiting to Saudi club Al-Ahli and Chelsea respectively.

Meanwhile, City are interested in Leeds United youngster Archie Gray, although the Championship club are set to play hard-ball for the 17-year-old. That’s according to 90min, which says Borussia Dortmund chiefs have already been over to scout the teenager.

Gray has played 27 matches for Leeds this season, starting and completing all but two of the club’s last 17 Championship matches. The defensive midfielder, an England Under-20 international, is also supposedly being tracked by Liverpool and Newcastle.
