Man City's next six Premier League fixtures compared with Arsenal ahead of Etihad showdown

Manchester City will be aiming to close the gap on league leaders Arsenal when they host the Gunners in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Blues currently sit five points behind Mikel Arteta's side in the top-flight table, however, City have two games in hand over the London outfit. Pep Guardiola's men secured a comfortable 3-1 win over Leicester in their last Premier League game, while Arsenal came from behind to draw 3-3 with Southampton.

City secured their spot in the FA Cup final at the weekend after cruising to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United at Wembley. Riyad Mahrez scored a hat-trick for the Blues to set up a final against Manchester United on June 3. For now, though, Guardiola and his players are focused on the title race.

Ahead of the crunch fixture between the two sides at the Etihad on Wednesday night, MEN Sport has taken a close look at City's next six league fixtures and compared them with Arsenal's.

Verdict: With the Blues currently trailing Arsenal by five points - albeit with two games in hand - it is vital Guardiola's men come out on top when the two sides meet at the Etihad on Wednesday night. City have already defeated the Gunners on three occasions this season, but they will certainly not underestimate Arteta's men. If the reigning champions are to retain their crown, they must secure all three points.

City will be confident about getting victories at home to West Ham and Leeds, and while Fulham have been impressive this term, Guardiola's men will arrive at Craven Cottage as firm favourites. The Blues will be targeting nine points from those three matches.
