Man City’s January transfer window simulated - £128m spent and Kalvin Phillips surprise

Manchester City may look to bolster their squad next month as they aim to become the first side to win four Premier League titles in a row.

With the January transfer window just around the corner City might enter the market for new recruits. Pep Guardiola's side won the treble last term but the race for the Premier League title looks keenly contested this season.

In the summer City signed Matheus Nunes, Jeremy Doku, Matteo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol for a combined £216 million, hoping to build on their treble-winning side having lost Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte, and Cole Palmer among others.

To complete the simulation we updated City’s squad with the current injury and suspension situation, allowing Football Manager 2024 to then decide who the champions could sign in the upcoming transfer window. This is what happened:
