Man City’s final five Premier League fixtures vs Arsenal and Liverpool after Brighton win

Manchester City remain in control of the Premier League title race after their 4-0 win at Brighton.

Pep Guardiola’s side began the evening four points behind Arsenal in top spot and a point off Liverpool, having played two games fewer than their title rivals. City’s victory at the Amex Stadium allowed the team to leapfrog Liverpool, following their shock derby defeat to Everton on Wednesday, and move a single point away from Arsenal, while having a game in hand.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring with a header from 15 yards out at the end of a flowing attacking move. Phil Foden added a brace before half-time, while Julian Alvarez added a fourth after the interval.

Crucially, City have one extra game to play than either Arsenal or Liverpool during the final run-in. The situation allows City to put pressure on the Gunners to be perfect to hold on to first place, as long as Guardiola’s side continue to win themselves.
