Man City press conference LIVE as Pep Guardiola and Ilkay Gundogan preview Borussia Dortmund Champions League match

Pep Guardiola will speak to the media this lunchtime as Manchester City prepare to welcome German opponents Borussia Dortmund to the Etihad Stadium for their next Champions League game on Wednesday night.

Having made it to the semi-finals in Europe last season, where they were beaten by eventual winners Real Madrid, City opted to freshen up their star-studded team during the summer window.

City signed Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji directly from the Bundesliga giants and those two players could play against their former teammates this Wednesday night (8pm). So too could Ilkay Gundogan and the City captain has been summoned for media duty alongside his manager before this latest Group G showdown.

Haaland netted two goals on his European debut for City as they swept aside Sevilla in their season opener.

Guardiola will provide the latest team news as Aymeric Laporte (knee) and John Stones (muscular) edge closer to fitness, while England international Kyle Walker (unspecified) remains on the road to recovery. Nathan Ake and Jack Grealish have already returned from their own setbacks.

Aymeric Laporte has returned to first-team training and also dropped a tantalising hint over his prospective comeback. City are set to take on Borussia Dortmund and Wolves in what is shaping up to be an action-packed few days for Pep Guardiola and his team across the main competitions.
