Ronald Koeman tells Man City players to savour Pep Guardiola

Ronald Koeman has lavished praise on his good friend, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

The pair were teammates together at Barcelona and enjoyed plenty of success together down the years at the Nou Camp.

They have remained close friends ever since and have regularly come up against each other since they moved into the dugout. And speaking to Sky Sports, the Dutchman says working under the City boss should be considered a "pleasure" for the current squad.

The former Barca and Everton boss said: "Pep is a really good friend and even last season when City played Liverpool, we had dinner after the game.

"Even then, he was talking football, talking football. He is crazy about football. How can he handle this during a long period? It's a lot of energy.

"For players to have a manager like Pep, with that energy, you like it. The way he does things, he tries to change football. It's all about movement, most of the time with the ball.

"For that reason I think it's a pleasure for every player to have Pep as their coach."
