Man City predicted line-up as Jeremy Doku call made ahead of FA Cup semi-final
Manchester City will turn their attention towards the FA Cup this afternoon when they travel to Wembley Stadium to take on Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals of the competition.
City are playing in their seventh consecutive semi-final and know a win over the Tricky Trees will punch their ticket into a third successive FA Cup final.
After a difficult Premier League season has seen them relinquish their grip on the league title, they can still end the season with some silverware in next month's Wembley showpiece.
But they are playing a Forest side who have gone toe to toe with them in the battle to secure Champions League qualification in the Premier League this term and who beat them at the City Ground last month.
Pep Guardiola knows he will have to get his team selection right against Nuno Espirito Santo's side and that means making some difficult decisions.
City head into the game unbeaten in seven matches. Guardiola tinkered with his side in the win over Everton last weekend and the victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday.
With doubts over Ederson's fitness still remaining, Stefan Ortega is expected to start in goal, while the back four of Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and Nico O'Reilly, who has been excellent at left-back in recent weeks, will likely be unchanged.
Guardiola has some decisions to make in midfield but the recent goalscoring form of Mateo Kovacic and the experience of Ilkay Gundogan should see them get the nod over Nico Gonzalez at the base of midfield.
Bernardo Silva has been vital to City's recent revival and is expected to start on the right-hand side, while Kevin De Bruyne's mission to prove City wrong over their decision to not renew his contract seems to have given an extra motivation.
