Man City player ratings vs Club America as Kevin De Bruyne shines in Haaland's absence
Stefan Ortega
Good save in the early stages to keep Manchester City level vs Club America, and showed decent distribution, too, with one pinpoint pass to halfway that Ederson would be proud of. A solid debut. 6
Kyle Walker
Effectively a third centre-back when City have possession. Calm and composed for the most part, and a good first run-out for the season. 6
Nathan Ake
Looked solid and was helping Luke Mbete along, but culpable for the goal that took a simple ball over the top to catch him out. Replaced at half time. 5

Targeted early on, but recovered to hold his own until the Club America goal, where he was equally at fault as Ake. Did well in the second half, though, alongside Phillips. 6

Kevin De Bruyne
Led the charge from the start, driving through the middle. His first goal was a fine finish after scrapping to win the ball twice, and the second a lovely run and shot under the goalkeeper. At his best when pushing through the middle. 8
Bernardo Silva
Sloppy in possession at times, giving the ball away in dangerous areas, but some useful positional work and signs that the form will return with fitness. Did well to cover at left-back when Cancelo roamed forward. 6
Riyad Mahrez
