Man City midfielder signs for manager for a third time after defeating injury setbacks
Manchester City midfielder Lewis Fiorini has signed for Charlton Athletic on loan after overcoming a frustrating injury.
Fiorini, 21, has impressed in League One over two spells in the last two seasons at Lincoln and Blackpool, but his time at Bloomfield Road was plagued by injury, and he picked up another issue over the summer which prevented him from building on that progress this term.
However, after recovering in the first half of the season, Fiorini is ready to make up for lost time after securing his move to The Valley for the rest of the campaign.

The Scotland under-21 international scored six goals and added five assists in his spell at Lincoln in 2021/22, but was restricted to just 14 games at Blackpool due to the persistent injury issues that saw him miss the majority of last season.
He returned for the end of the campaign, but a setback over the summer meant his 2023 was a frustrating one. Now he will look to rebuild his career and help Charlton up the League One table as they sit 14th - just six points above the relegation places under new manager Michael Appleton.
This is the third time Appleton has signed Fiorini, as he was in charge at Lincoln and then Blackpool, before taking over from Dean Holden at Charlton earlier this season.
Fiorini is the second exit from City in as many days, with Zack Steffen leaving permanently to join Colorado Rapids on Thursday. The Blues have also recalled midfielder Kian Breckin from a loan at Wycombe.
