Man City 'lead transfer race' for £50m Rodri replacement wanted by Liverpool
Manchester City are being linked with a move for Atalanta midfielder Ederson ahead of the January transfer window.
City have been credited with an interest in several potential new signings ahead of the January window, in particular in midfield. The injury to Rodri back in October means that Pep Guardiola is expected to be without one of the first names on the team sheet for the remainder of the season.
Rodri has outlined his ambition to return from the injury in the final weeks of the campaign. However, that is not stopping rumours that City are looking to sign a new midfielder to replace the Spaniard.
According to Calciomercato, City are looking to sign Ederson from Atalanta in the New Year. The report claims that City will face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus for the signing of the Brazilian in January.

It has been claimed that Atalanta have set an asking price of €60million (£50million) for Ederson's signature. City, it has been reported, are ahead of both PSG and Juventus in the race to sign Ederson, who has made 17 appearances so far this season for the Serie A outfit.
Despite the rumoured interest from City, the report states that Atalanta have no intention of allowing Ederson to leave the club in January. It remains to be seen, though, if an offer from City could tempt the Italian club to change their stance.
Ederson has long been linked with a move to Liverpool. City's Premier League title rivals are said to have tracked the midfielder extensively.
