Man City have already been given two options for next step in £12.5m transfer plan
Manchester City have enjoyed a very positive summer in the transfer market so far.
The Blues wrapped up the signings of Rayan Ait Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders before they jetted off to the Club World Cup, with Cherki and Reijnders making their debut in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Wydad AC.
All four players will be part of Pep Guardiola's plans for the 2025/26 season but while there is much excitement surrounding their potential fifth signing of the summer, the same cannot be said of the incoming Sverre Nypan.
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the stars of Norwegian football and scored eight goals and bagged seven assists from midfield for Rosenborg last season.
That has convinced City to try and wrap up a £12.5million move for the Norway under-21 international but their plan for him will be to spend the 2025/26 campaign away from the Etihad on loan.
The FIFA Club World Cup will see 32 of the world's best club teams including Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich play across 63 games from June 14-July 13.

When he was linked with United back in November, the Manchester Evening News spoke to the experts at Football Norway about Nypan's potential and while they were full of praise for his ability, they were keen to stress he would need a bridge move between Rosenborg and a major club in England.
And as City look for potential loan suitors, Brentford and Benfica were mooted as possible destinations for the young star.
