Man City full list of FFP charges after huge Premier League points deduction update

Unlike the nervous wait for other clubs across the Premier League - notably Chelsea and Manchester United - there was little for Manchester City to worry about on Tuesday morning. When the Premier League made it clear that no new financial charges had been issued, nothing changed at the Etihad Stadium.

City have the highest revenue in the division once again. They recorded a club-high turnover of £715million for the 2023/24 reporting period and ensured that there was no risk of falling foul to the now much-maligned profitability and sustainability rules (PSRs).

At a time whereby the league has tried to show its teeth - docking both Everton and Nottingham Forest points last season - City are in the clear. It is only one part of a wider battle for Pep Guardiola's side, though.

In the backdrop, City remain accused of over 115 breaches of more financial regulations. The much-publicised legal hearing ended before Christmas with an official outcome expected in the near future.

The potential punishments, if City are found to be guilty - a matter they refute vehemently - could be a lot worse than just losing six points. They are innocent until proven otherwise, though, and the methods of determining if they did indeed cheat over a decade between 2008 and 2018 are a lot more complex than calculating PSR thresholds.

Clubs are allowed to lose a maximum of £105million across a rolling three-year period under current legislation. City were never in any danger of going over that line due to their on-field success, commercial drive, and player trading.
