Man City 'express interest' in Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly interested in Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and may offer Kalvin Phillips to the Magpies as part of a bid.

According to The Mirror, the Blues have a 'strong interest' in the Brazilian ace and could make a move for the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window. The report adds that City could also be willing to include England international Phillips as part of the deal, with the midfielder having struggled for minutes since arriving at the Etihad.

It is thought that Real Madrid are also interested in Guimaraes, who has registered four goals and three assists in 28 appearances for Eddie Howe's side this season. Phillips, on the other hand, has featured on just 13 occasions for Pep Guardiola's side since signing for City from Leeds United.

Guardiola will reportedly look to sign a new midfielder at the end of the season, with the futures of Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan still unclear. The latter is out of contract in the summer, while his Blues teammate is under contract at the Etihad until 2025.

Elsewhere, Fichajes have reported that City are interested in including Barcelona starlet Gavi in a deal for midfielder Bernardo in the summer.

The Catalan giants were keen on signing the Portuguese ace last summer, but the Blues were adamant that the 28-year-old was not departing unless their valuation was met.

However, the report claims that City could reduce their asking price for Bernardo if Barcelona starlet Gavi is included in a deal for the player. Gavi has made 83 appearances for the Spanish outfit, registering four goals and 11 assists.
