Man City: Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez already giving Ederson a tough time in training

Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez have already been giving Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson a torrid time in training.

City have released a four-minute video showing their new forwards training over in Houston, America, with the rest of their teammates.

Pep Guardiola’s side begin their pre-season campaign against Club America on Wednesday night in a fixture that should see Haaland and Alvarez both make their first appearances for the Premier League outfit.

Haaland, world football’s most prolific young centre-forward who City signed from Borussia Dortmund for £51 million this summer, showed no mercy to Ederson with a series of close-range finishes.

You can hear the player singing ‘Haaland!’ as he puts the ball in the net.

While Alvarez, a hugely promising £14.1 million signing from River Plate, produced one particularly special finish (1.55 in the video) after Ederson spilled the initial shot.

It’s hard not to feel a little sorry for Ederson.

He already had the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez to contend with, now he has to try and stop two of the best young forward on the planet as well.

City fans have also expressed their sympathy for their Brazilian ‘keeper after watching the latest footage from training:

Haaland, who scored a remarkable 86 goals in 89 games for Dortmund, is currently the bookies’ favourite to finish his debut Premier League campaign with the Golden Boot award.

Alvarez, however, is a lot further down the list of favourites, behind the likes of Chelsea’s Timo Werner, Brentford’s Ivan Toney
